  When I first saw these movies as a kid, I was obsessed with the battles and the fantasy world. The older I get, the more impacted I am by the human element of this story. Even the simplicity of Frodo turning to Sam and saying "I'm glad you're with me" gets me tearing up. These movies are a fucking miracle, man

  I was kinda disappointed by this! 

  I love Michael Mann, but it's wild how much better Thief has aged, stylistically, despite being 5 years older than Manhunter. Couldn't get past some of the music choices here either.
   
  I prefer the grandiose theatrics of Silence of the Lambs

  Edit: I actually decided that I hate this movie- bizarre writing, Lithgow’s character makes no sense, John Travolta is driving through crowds of people like it’s a Looney Toons episode, the ending is straight up distasteful… what the fuck is this lmao

  This was made by *exactly* the kind of person I would have detested in film school. Feels like an Epic Mustache guy's red-pilled response to the MeToo movement. Can't believe I got duped into thinking this was gonna be good. Could have been playing Diablo instead of watching this garbage
