I lived in Brunswick in 2022. Not much has changed in that town, even though this film was made in 1990. The one of main locations, the nightclub, is still there in a different business, and Brunswick Baths is much the same. I really love the year I spent in this city, so I miss everything in this film.

Sion Sono's films often have stories that are unnecessary to the plot. However this excessive rap musical, with its many characters and tribes, is brilliantly done in two hours. And it succeeds in keeping the excitement going from beginning to end.

Each character (real rappers as well as actors) has a unique personality, and it all mixed together to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
