Intention was there but it’s incredible how the Russo brothers post endgame continue to show they are incapable of taking cinematic risks. Formulaic storytelling that is a huge swing and a miss no matter how endearing, star studded and obvious thematic ties to reality… as members of this art form that are supposed to be pushing it, they keep disappointing it over and over.

I loved the play and Cynthia Erivo performance literally along grants this movie an automatic above average rating. We need more stories exposing the indoctrination of our society and helping it’s citizens understand their duty to stand up against systems that are not in the interests of all.

Kimi was exactly the type of modern cinema that people want to see. Similar to Zach Cregger's Barbarian that premiered within the same year, it doesn't need to rely on super heroes or copious amounts of special effects to be one of the best films any given audience member has seen in recent memory.

It’s story telling is central and more importantly it's incredibly inventive but still manages the viewers expectations as any well structured script should. I was satisfied…

Telegraphed ending from the start but I’ll be God damned if Julie Roberts “she saves him right back” line didn’t exemplify how endearing this film is! Formulaic Hollywood before it became an over saturated structure. I also was watching this film in the middle of the night because I couldn’t sleep and had a “break the matrix” moment. She says “let’s stay up and watch old movies” which I was of course already doing. It shows the clock when he’s fallen asleep and it was 2:56 a.m. which was the exact same time it was IRL 👁️
