  My dog must've watched a combined 10-15 minutes of this with me, which has to be the longest she's ever stared at a screen. Pretty surprising, considering the Crash Bandicoot animation style, but goes to show you — lifelike animal movements and sound design go a long way.

  Beautiful film, best new animated feature I've seen in a few years.

  This should check so many boxes for me that I really don't wanna pan it, and genuinely find the result admirable (it's stylish, technically impressive, definite in it's directorial vision, and tonally confident and concrete), but I found the end result to be a bit disappointing.  I do think that going in with the expectation of a loosely-narrative experimental/arthouse horror project would help, but even framed in that context this frankly felt a bit half-baked and self-indulgent.  I'm not totally sold…

  Awesomely putrid slow zombies emerge from tropical beach graves to casually feast on jerked human and vibe to '70s Italo-synth and Afro-Caribbean palo beats.  What's not to like.
