This movie about the ‘modern woman’ that was made by a man who, through the stories he decides to tell, clearly hates women, is so fucking bad. The director, whoever he may be, has absolutely  no  grasp on  literally any woman’s experience. Watching these women’s stories unfold through the perspective of this man made me hate the women too,  which makes me think this movie was actually made for men who think they love women but secretly blame them for all of their own problems. I haaaate this movie

I love this movie because yes it is a love letter to America and growing up but the main takeaway (MY main takeaway)  is that a boyfriend would solve all my problems. Hate your life and want to move back home? you just need a hot boyfriend who’s obsessed with you. easy peasy. so real, so not productive or helpful. Omg im joking!!!!! I really do adore this story, it’s so tender and respectful.

I’ve also spent most of my life thinking Paul Dano is a freak which I was right about actually

I’ve seen this movie many times and each time something new sticks with me.  This viewing I am just dazzled with the character’s ongoing understanding of each other.

One such occurrence  is when Mr. Bennet insists on letting his unhinged daughter (Lydia) leave home to go find herself, as opposed to keeping her inside.   Of course, this moment stands on top of more obvious Mr. Bennet moments like;  insisting Elizabeth not marry Mr. Collins, and Mr. Bennet approving…
