  A time capsule from the early 2000s, which examines globalization through a number of wide angel and contrasting shots. Though the camera lingers too long on some shots, and there is definitely room to examine more places than just China, it is nevertheless an easily accessible and visually stunning documentary.

  It takes a little while to get going, and some of the different plotlines don't mesh so well, but that said, the film is overall a somber look at aging, community, what we owe one another, and the importance of rituals in our lives. Worthy of a re-watch.

  A well paced adventure which raises questions about the banality of evil and the limits of individual human action to affect change.

Following
