The Tower 2018
This movie should be mandatory viewing on all personal, educational, curricular watchlists. A sharp reminder that oppression lingers amongst the oppressors, their enablers, ‘providers of asylum’, and even our own communities. The most rewarding use of experimental stop motion and animation to explore time and culture as motifs that shape identities.
The scream the aunt lets out at the top of the tower captured every last gram of grief in my body and boomed it through the speakers. Goosebumps start to finish.
