    1. Switch out Coralie Fargeat’s name in the credits with Ryan Murphy’s and I’d believe it. Fargeat has a similar allusive instinct to Murphy. They reference the same writer/directors (Lynch, Kubrick, Mankiewicz, Wilde, Hitchcock—surprisingly very little Cronenberg influence here) merely as intertextual commentary (or just for superficial amusement/manufactured legitimacy) as opposed to synthesizing a unique syntax from those references.
