Excruciatingly long and dull. Mongol tells the story of Genghis Khan's rise to power, but the movie is such a drag. It feels like a chore to get through. The look of the movie, too; it feels like if a segment of Deadliest Warrior was given more budget, but it doesn't quite gel. It's like it was a History Channel original or something.
Some nice shots throughout, but it's not enough to save it from the muddled and boring plot.

Vibrant colors, great, super loveable characters and a bittersweet story that is, by far, Almodovar's best.

Disdain wells up in the pores of Boris and Zhenya as their fierce divorce leads their son, Alyosha, to dissappear. And not even in a situation as desperate as this can they stop hating and blaming each other.
Great performances and very calculated cinematography. One of the most hostile movies I've seen; it hit close to home at times.
