Solid performances by Keke Palmer and SZA recreate Ice Cube's "Friday" in modern day LA with a feminine spin and fresh jokes for today's audience. My only gripe would be that SZA is played as too unintelligent when paired next to Palmer's undeniable charm.

The Truman Show 1998
A masterful performance by Jim Carrey in a film that allows its clever concept to be fully realized. Religious language and imagery, corporate greed, and interpersonal deception all make the viewer question their own reality as Truman uncovers his own truth. Carrey is believably zaney, focused, miserable, apathetic, hilarious, and joyful precisely when the story calls for it and it's just brilliant how he plays off of Ed Harris without ever having a scene with him.
