felt quite indelicate at some parts, especially in the beginning when a lot of cliches were used to show Donghyun’s life as an immigrant ei. throwing his lunch away, pulling up his eyes up in the mirror. nevertheless, the movie pleasantly surprised me after it progressed and built on these ideas; it ended up feeling much more intimate which makes a lot of sense considering how it was based off the director Anthony Shim’s own life. beautifully shot, the Korea scenes made me painfully nostalgic for the countryside. personally, Choi Seung-yoon as Soyoung stole the show for me, so touching …
