  This movie was surprisingly good. While obviously all the characters are complete buffoons and the storms are a tad unrealistic, I wasn’t expecting the effort that they put into to build a cohesive plot and memorable characters. Specifically Glenn Powell as Tyler Owens killed it. Fun, exciting watch. A bit stupid, but what do you expect?

  I solely enjoyed this film on the merits of its preceding films. The minions are lit, I liked the super minions, the roaches were a nice touch. Here’s the sad truth: Gru’s gone soft. This one didn’t feel like it had the stakes of the last one. While the family was put in danger, there was never any internal conflict between good and bad with gru in this one that made the others feel more real. And don’t give me that attempted robbery. Overall, funny animation, don’t regret seeing it. The golden days of despicable me are over, but honestly not bad for a part 4.
