    Very funny, but a couple of ham-fisted performances, notably Mark Ruffalo. It has some good big set pieces but I think the film actually shines in the quieter moments, especially the scene with Anamaria Vartolomei. Pattinson knocks it out the park.

    Watching in 70mm is a joy. Lighting, cinematography, staging, are all amazing. Brody, Jones and particularly Pearce are brilliant. However this film left me wanting. We get flashes of ideas and a few fleshed out ones. But ultimately I think this film fails to give me enough of what I think is great about it, which is odd given its 3.5hr run time.     Conclave is beautifully shot and incredibly well acted. However, it suffers from the same thing that most hollywood films suffer with, which is “The Idea” overreaching the plot.
