Great IMAX experience. It seems Bong Joom Ho’s english films are consistently very different than his Korean ones, in the sense that they are all way more unserious and dystopian. However, Mickey-17 is not trying to be a serious movie, it is a dark comedy. I do not know if Marshall is supposed to be a satire of Trump/Musk, but regardless his character was in my opinion the strongest part of the movie. If Ho delved more into the world-building…

Companion 2025
Thought it was a very well made movie. I enjoyed the Black Mirror-eque plot and some of the original violence. However, the end dragged quite a bit, was predictable, and the message did not resonate with me. Jack Quaid impressed me with his performance, also seems that the lead actress is in for some big time movies after this (she’s a smoke and can act). I would say that it was worth a watch and would’ve been a better start to 2025 then Flight Risk. #TeamJack

Sinister 2012
Sinister was a refreshing horror film. I haven’t been left with the tension and disturbia, which the film slowly oozed for two hours, for so long since Hereditary. Though Hereditary is more 3-dimensional and plot heavy, Sinister focuses more on the tip-toe horror and single protagonist, Ellison. I love the symbolism of mysterious, pitch-darkness in each scene, as well as the intense sound. Flaws in the film include the hollow meaning and the rather plain plot. In the end, however, I was successfully left disturbed, and quite honestly, tweaked.

Ferrari 2023
Michael Mann’s Ferrari clutches you by the scruff and drags you alongside the passionate yet engimatic Enzo Ferrari, excellently depicted by Adam Driver. Though the plot seems convoluted, the jaw-dropping scene at the end of the race acts as the fulcrum to clarity. Never have I seen a movie scene stun grenade an entire theatrical audience like that before.
Penelope Cruz and Patrick Dempsey deserve praise for their acting in this film as well. But the most overlooked part about…
