The Wild Robot 2024
The pacing felt a bit off, likely due to trying to follow an original novel. The story did lean toward the cliché side and tried to juggle too many themes, from motherhood to friendship, which made it feel a bit overstuffed.
That said, it was still heartwarming and visually stunning. A lovely story about being more than you were programmed for.
Disney and Pixar should take notes.

Imperfect fragments, from the shaky handheld camera work to the broken CD player, from the incomprehensible miluyu tebe to the unresolved love, from the harsh swear words to the messy lives, all come together to make it perfect. There’s no grand resolution. It’s just a moment that happens once, lingering long after the final notes. Makes you think a lot about music and life.
Once is definitely worth seeing twice. (Pun intended)

마음이 무거워지는 영화다. 이 영화는 안중근 의거라는 무거운 주제를 담담하게 다룬다. 기존의 수많은 역사 영화의 문법을 거스르며, 과감하게 기존 영화들이 넣지 않을 장면들을 넣고 넣을 장면들을 넣지 않는다. 그렇기에 이 영화는 되게 신선하게 다가오면서도, 많은 생각들을 하게 만든다.
