This film had everything going for it: a fantastic cast including Hopkins, Moore, Liotta and Oldman, who delivered the best performance of the movie in my opinion; a strong director fresh off the success of Gladiator, a music score by Hans Zimmer, a skilled director of photography and very talented writers.
And yet, the end result was incredibly disappointing. It’s almost hard to believe that such a strong team could even produce something so underwhelming.

I believe Michael Mann's grounded, realistic direction undermines the dramatic nature of the story and aside from Edward Norton, the main cast in the 2002 version feels more adept at portraying these larger-than-life figures, especially with the villains. The standout aspects of this version, however, are certainly William Petersen’s more unhinged performance as Will Graham and Dennis Farina’s portrayal of a more proactive John Crawford.

To Kill a Mockingbird 1962
I think this movie has one of the few courtroom scenes I've ever seen that doesn't have any "Objection!", "Order!", or "May I, your Honor?" in it.
