    An obviously experimental film - and in its experimentation I feel it loses sight of the narrative itself. No matter how beautifully this film is shot (probably the most breathtaking cinematography in the past year) or how innovative it is in its style, the characters and thematic core still feel underdeveloped, and difficult to connect to, as its feels more fascinated in conveying a life than telling a story.

    The night scenes are masterfully shot. There is contrast, everything is readable and clear, and it's still visually striking. The de-saturated colours are used to reflect the feelings of depression and melancholy central to the narrative, but they never look bland or uninteresting.
