  Love that monkey.
  Love that it gives Gracey licence to build a freaky dreamworld that you can never fully grasp the rules of.
  Even the more rote biopic beats feel unusually rewarding; the successfully unnerving camera colliding with the uncanny valley of its protagonist to induce a crazy off-kilter psychosis.
  Freakin' weird and ungainly and fun.

  Succeeds as a great reminder that the songs in the first act of Wicked are just non-stop heaters buutttttt is otherwise nearly a complete failure of adaptation.
  Yes the lighting direction is bad but the effect that has on the edit is arguably worse. On the macro the probably great choreography is nearly all lost thanks to constant unmotivated cuts to random coverage. Then broadly it’s just waaayyy too long.   I think this was probably doomed the moment Disney wrote it a $300 million cheque.

  With Raiders Spielberg and Lucas had something to prove to the studios - so they made the scrappiest, sweatiest movie of all time.
  Sure, their budgets were also massive but their filmmaking was always economical.
  Why waste time and money with four camera set ups when you can just push and pan and turn the camera all in one shot?
