Barbie 2023
Definitely didn’t expect it to go the route that it did based on the marketing. As a man in the theater, it felt like an ambush. The standout of this movie was the amazing set design and the whole atmosphere. Very inventive and fun. Beyond that, it didn’t have much to offer anyone who doesn’t agree with its messaging or is even neutral toward it. It too often seeks applause over laughs, and it showed. Ralph Breaks the Internet 2018
The children watching this in the theater were visibly bored. Only a few laughs were had before the movie lost the audience's attention. That's pretty much the worst thing you can say about a kids' movie. It's just boring. In all of its attempts to be heartwarming, it falls flat, as do its attempts at humor.
Also Gal Gadot's line delivery is really bad, as always. But my girlfriend liked her character so there's that.
