Nothing could have prepared me for John Malkovich in a mirrored costume pelvic thrusting to booming bass.
This movie could've been a smash hit by fully leaning into the songs from the fictional star around which this movie is written, maybe even being a musical. But instead, it's just a reductive version of a bunch of better movies.

This movie ends up being very predictable, with several parts of it being either inconsequential or underdeveloped, if not both. It introduces this fantastical new world and then squanders its potential. When it does subvert the viewer's expectations, it's for the worse.
