Loretta Lynn seemed cool but man the main relationship here is super uncomfortable and never really charmed me. Aside from that it's a pretty basic music biopic with nothing really that interesting to show. Sissy Spacek is fantastic and that's about it.

The complaints about this being a white savior movie had me worried but this lived up to the hype and then some.

Very easy to see why this is so timeless despite the actors obviously not being high school age. It shows the roots of rebellion and how it stems from lack of care and compassion, or even too much at times. James Dean is as great as I heard and there are some scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately the third act is kinda weak, I find it weird that it doesn't conclude with the gang of bullies and it kinda drags a little too long. Overall its still an enjoyable classic.
