    I just never could really get into this one. Part of the problem was probably starting this late at night and being too sleepy. But even then.

    I don’t deny this is probably a very good movie. In terms of some history of it, this is considered a major example of studio meddling with the final cut, forcing a reshoot to get to a happier ending, as well as shaving off tens of minutes and completely altering the score, so much so where the composer treatened legal action to make sure his name was not credited.

    Arguably the first rom-com and first screwball comedy. This is a fun, easy to watch classsic with the two lead characters with good chemistry. Winner of the big 5 at the Oscars (the first to do it). Understanding more about the history of this film, released in the throes of the Depression, this movie was different than most at the time in that had simple, American settings and characters and did not have the extravagant scale that many had.     Totally forgot to log this back in November. Now a Best Picture winner. The rare Academy decision getting it right and going to the best movie of the year.

    Anora is such a fun ride. Really funny, tense, and so alive. Amazing cast. An amazing lead performance from Mikey Madison and my favorite performance of the year. And the Chalamet-like Russian young adult rich kid has a ton of charm (Ivan).

    Scorsese with another great movie. A late career gem from a master filmmaker. 

    The closest thing to a western in his filmography, although it’s really not that. Brings in a lot of themes into this movie. It’s a very long movie but not one I was ever bored with. The longest movie I have seen in a theater. The story unfolds over many years so I’d call it an epic.
