It was perfect... it was sensational... it was Looney.
If you want a Looney Tunes movie that understands what made their Golden Age iterations work & have a genuine heartwarming story at its core.... Pete Browngardt & Co. made it.

(The scene is a younger Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman walking out of a reparatory theater)
Meat Loaf: Man that was intense. And Chaney was incredible.
Jim: Yeah but.. I don't know. Having your arms surgically amputated so as to be able to be with the woman of your dreams. I mean, I'd do anything for love, but..... but.....
Meat: Jim?
Jim: Mr. Loaf.... grab me a pad of paper and some pencils.... NOW
Theres an efficiency and emotional pay off to this small thriller that I dug. Its a brisk watch with a dash of dark and dreary atmosphere that makes up for some stumbling. Camila Mendes and Adriana Barraza are solid, with their characters wrapped in an intriguing morality/ coming of age play that kept me intrigued.
Still immensly watchable. Solid Performances and stunning cinematography during the race sequences.
Narrative framing is interesting in retrospect, the idea of mixing the Ken Burns aeshthectic as an allegorical tool is fine though there are times where it does throw off the momentum, albeit briefly.
