Berlin Horse 1970
Disruption a pattern, turned to rhythm. Fragments of light, as though the images become a painting. Endlessly mechanical. Muybridge. Workers leaving the factory (a horse leaving the factory). Such a cinema-conscious film. Ironic Le Grice wanted to make films that were not escapist because this is like a lullaby - I'd be pretty content watching this on repeat for the rest of my life. And to see it on 16!!! So perfect.
