  A disgustingly misogynistic and cruel film.
  This is an absolute waste of time and a disturbing piece. It’s nothing but a complicated version of the overused maxim “boys will be boys” or “men will be men” masquerading as a deep and philosophical truth . Kim Ki-Duk’s reductive portrayal of human complexity, as problematic as he is, seems to excuse the abhorrent behavior of his characters as “part of the cycle”. He’s just practically shoving harmful stereotypes down our throats throughout the film and asking us to deal with it. Wouldn’t recommend
