Let's get it out of the way, the Seven Samurai parallels are inescapable but while this movie never reaches Seven Samurai's peaks, it does serve as a worthy spiritual successor. There are some beautiful character arcs and unapologetic action scenes scattered throughout this gorgeous looking film. If you're looking for a modern take on classic samurai films look no further.

The Suicide Squad 2021
I don't really know what to say about this movie that the movie can't do on its own. It fires on all cylinders and does a fantastic job all round. Fun writing, wonderful acting, some unexpectedly gorgeous cinematography and genuinely funny moments make this film a truly great blockbuster. It's heaps of fun and full of heart.

This movie is wonderful. Its beautifully shot with so many interesting concepts. It's got very typical Nolan dialogue in that it's very exposition heavy but he's very good at disguising it as regular dialogue. The movie has a tall task when it comes to explaining its rules and concepts but does a very good job at making them clear, if not on your first viewing then definitely on your second. John David Washington is growing as a leading actor but at times I felt he was out of his depth. I'm really excited to see where his career goes, though. I loved it. Simple as that.

This movie was one I didn't think was necessary. The first movie was a nice self contained gimmick movie that was memorable because of its simplicity and originality. After seeing the movie my opinion hasn't changed. The gimmick that made the first movie special didn't work anymore and they knew it.
