  I really do relate to this movie, its themes and its central character. Hirayama finds peace in control and order. The only time we see him breakdown is when that routine is upset, like with the bar at the end or his coworker quits or when his niece joins him. All of these result in some lesson, some breaking of the cracks that allow him to see life in more than one dimension, while still holding true to the major…

  This movie is flawed, yes. But I can watch it over and over and never get bored. It’s long, but well paced and is able to capture the grittiness of Batman while not sacrificing any of its inherent campiness.
