I really admired how Ash really takes its time to let the horror fully reveal itself. You can really tell that director Flying Lotus is a fan of almost every piece of science fiction movie and even video games because Ash blends so many tropes, visual elements and concepts into this thing. Some for better or worse, and maybe it’s a challenge to bring about new ideas in the genre but I’ll at least give credit on a familiar schtick.
It’s a colorful movie in a unique style. Eiza Gonzalez is terrific but Aaron Paul I found to be wasteful.
