Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto 1954
Way too theatrical, barely any mise en scene effort, some fight scenes are alright but the movie focuses too much on pointless love stories. The source material deserves better.

I Stand Alone 1998
A dark, desolate, bleak and raw insight into the french lower class, an absolute watch and timeless classic, nonetheless, the ending had a forced feeling to it as nothing previously shown was forshadowing it, I speculate that the only reason Gaspar Noé made his character take this route is to avoid the movie to be labelled as far right.
