the directors said free palestine (from the hijab). i feel like the purpose of the documentary was to create a palatable experience for a western “neutral” audience.
nevertheless, the whole time i couldn’t stop thinking about how much worse it is in gaza now. the mosques and hospitals that were shown have been blown to pieces in the past year. if people were “better off being dead than living in gaza” in 2019 imagine how unbearable the situation is now?
