  It has so much going for it that would have a made it a classic in the noir canon, but alas, the last 20 min and the ending really deflated the whole thing. What is that atrocious ending? Seriously.

  I’m anti war as you can be, but man I found this film to be shameless in depicting what is essentially war horror porn. It’s like it’s almost too proud of what their makeup and costume artists can do. Not only that, it felt formulaic as all hell, by the first hour I was having fun guessing what’s gonna happen next! But the WW1 era setting did intrigue me .
