watched in my geology class to assess the accuracy of its volcano science. i think it really only works as an enjoyable movie in that setting.

The Batman 2022
i really tried but couldn't get past 46 minutes... it's so unfocused and long. there is no key/fill light in sight, the eye wanders to pockets of light that illuminate nothing, no dimension or depth on faces or figures - everyone exists in a singular, muddy flat plane. it just feels ideologically weak, even ironically. "the city is eating itself" what does that even mean? like wtf were the director and cinematographer thinking?
