A fun time!! Notice, what I didn’t say was “what a logically coherent time!”
Yeah this movie is fun… fun enough to keep you engaged through all of its flaws!! 😅 It’s a really solid idea to have an action hero protagonist incapable of feeling pain, plus the obvious humor you’d expect to arise from that premise is genuine and really effective..
The love story component only works for me up to a certain (low) degree… The silly cop-side story…
It has its obvious shortcomings… but boy this one is FUN. The classic post-apocalyptic / barren wasteland movie with a unique and truly captivating plot. Denzel and Oldman are stellar.
A classic re-watchable and one I’m eager to discuss on the next episode of “The Art Preesh Podcast” coming out next week.
Funny at times… inconsistent and felt to me like it was trying much too hard to force some kind of emotion that wasn’t obvious to me always… I ended wondering exactly what the point was.
Benji’s emotional rants are met with eager response by all while David’s monologues abruptly jut out from his quiet disposition and are met with nothing of the like. It was interesting, but again what’s the point?
