I don't think that I like supernatural horror, it was so great at displaying grief, trauma, mental illness and then drops it all on its head for this cult leader, demon nonsense. That turn to the unambiguous supernatual made everything in the movie feel so banal and kitschy. I do enjoy the tone, the camerawork, and unnerving ambiance that the movie creates. Annie so obviously hates and resents Peter it's exampled in her statements to other characters and her own subconscious, she's awful. I thought the acting was really great, I just think that the last 20 minutes of the movie were dreadful.

I really liked how stationary the camera was, it made the scenes feel kind of impersonal like I'm not supposed to see or hear everything. I really liked the atmosphere that the movie built up. The action sequences felt believable for the characters in their circumstances. I found the camera work strange at the start but it really immersed me later on when things go intense.
JAEDEN WAS PHENOMENAL! His character was intriguing and had levels throughout, it nice great to see Joseph and the dad's different world views. An issue I do have is Thomas never verbally said, "I'm sorry." Or "I'm am selfish,…

I liked this movie quite a bit, I enjoyed the misdirection of the main characters. I like the discussions being had, it was similar to Saw but less gore and more eerie or unsettling. The discussions about control, and comparing and contrasting different religions attention grabbing. Overall the movie was interesting enough and held my attention and it was an engaging watch. My only complaints were I either wanted more gore or more dialog, the ending was a tad shticky but it's welcome to me. The butterfly motif throughout tickled me.
