A very wacky, definitely 80s movie. The coloring, practical effects, and creativity just can’t be beat. The lore in this is quite hard for me to follow though. Not particularly gripping either. This was my second watch. I appreciate the work that goes into movies like this. The costumes and set looked fab. I just wasn’t all in with the plot. MacLaughlin plays a great Paul Atreides though, so shout out to him. 3 stars.
I didn’t know how to feel about this by the end. Visually stunning. If you wanna see a well-lit and beautifully colored film, this is it. Adrien Brody is such a metal actor, really fantastic performance. Part One of this was enjoyable and felt very real. This one kinda dragged in the middle for me. It was obviously gonna take a turn somewhere and I didn’t anticipate where it would go. The ending was a little confusing and I was missing some through-line. Good acting and gorgeous looking movie. The story was good but we got a little lost. So 3.5 stars.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
We we’re cooking at first, solid plot and Demi Moore is a star, so a lot of potential there… the last half of the movie was a crock of shit. The longer I watched, the more pissed off I became. Body Horror is the all-time worst genre invented because the plot always gets thrown away for gags, absurdity, and nasty fx. Demi Moore is a slice of pepperoni by the end, take with that what you will. One star.
I just can’t with the trend of overindulgence in horror movies these days. The first movie was gory and scary but the plot was still important. This sequel just felt gory without much rhyme or reason and that’s the kind of shit I don’t like. I was skipping through by the last 20 minutes. Not my fave. 2 stars
