This is what filmmaking is all about. So incredibly well directed, charismatic and complicated characters, gigantic in scale without losing the intimate— and it looks so goddamn gorgeous.
How did this movie ever get made by an American studio?
A frustratingly dull, drawn-out telling of the tragic story of the Osage County murders with directing that leaves me scratching my head.
There’s simply nothing special here. Leaving the theatre I’m immediately inventing a different movie in my mind, mourning the film that never was. Mourning what should have been a colossal film starring powerhouse actors directed by one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, telling an important and timely story.
