A film that has the classic qualities of old cinema with an overture, intermission, and a 3.5 hour runtime. László was a very relatable character to me due to both of us being Jewish so I understood the film differently than my friends who I was with. The acting was tremendous by the whole cast. The main issue I had with the film was the… 🌽 and I didn’t understand the reason behind it.

Cry Freedom 1987
I was in South Africa in March of 2024 and could never visualize what apartheid looked like. Though it’s just a movie, Cry Freedom definitely shows how dangerous of a place South Africa was during the 1970s. The plot was intriguing but the final scene felt extremely out of place. However, the epilogue nearly brought me to tears.
