Alien: Romulus 2024
Frame one had me. The use of practical effects was amazing and it felt so gritty. Also the cinematography was so well done. Everything felt so cramped and dirty and hazardous. This was intense and had great suspense throughout. We can forget the minor cringey dialogue in the beginning and somewhat throughout the film. (Mainly surrounding one particular character) But I can not get over the opening sequence. Seeing the film grain and the use of practicals and miniatures had me hooked for absolutely no reason but it did.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 2019
The film is not perfect at all. The film is very rushed. It does not stop for a second and this baby chugs harder than Metallica or Meshuggah on a bad day. But that made for a film that was wall to wall action that I very much enjoyed. It was kinda predictable but that’s kinda what this franchise needs right now.
