  Avoided this movie cause of all the critique that its just a white savior movie, and it sort of is, some scenes feel very "im not THAT kind of white" while others tell the story of a man torn between his culture and his person, happy ending, heartwarming dialogue, Mahershala Ali does the heavy lifting and it is criminal that he won Oscar for best supporting actor rather than best actor. 3.5/5 trying to paint a working class white man in the north during the civil rights era as on the same tier of opression as black americans in the south is weak.
