  I just don't wanna think that the woman is in love with the husband. ( If she was then the character loses so much from her place for me) I want to think that Maria was just a helpless woman who can't get out of her social position. But how can we blame her? Starts of 1900's, toxic patriarchal society, stupid customs, a poor family with seven kids and a really abusive husband. How could she look after her kids if she had left her husband ? Or should I say could she be alive after if she had left her toxic husband?

  People who haven't got the ability to think and live under the order made of superstitions. A bigot who thinks he is in charge of, morals police old villagers, innocent lovers, a jerk priest and ofc an innocent woman who pays for all this stupidness... And yet a nice soviet propaganda 😏
