People always speak on citizen kane.
Yet I dare say that this is greater if not an equal masterpiece of filmmaking.
The long take in the beginning and orson welles booming narration plunge one directly into the dream that a film is meant to be.
Although with all the great noir lighting and striking imagery. Orson welles acheives the peak of any artist.
That is to create art while hiding the creator.
