This is a strange one, it doesn't really work as a horror, nor does it work as a crime thriller. It's not scary and the creepy, masked serial killer isn't explored as a character at all.

Peele is talking in metaphors again. It's plain to see what the subtext of his latest story is, by the Bible quote 3 seconds in and the non sequitur feeling, chimp led sitcom scenes. This isn't just a movie about UFOs, it's about sensationalism, a grand performance, the deep dishonesty of mankind feeling in total control of the other.
