Babygirl 2024
I really liked how Babygirl handles pleasure—it actually feels real, not just something thrown in for shock or drama. Halina Reijn gives us a story where female desire isn’t just about being seductive or reckless; it’s complicated, messy, and totally in Romy’s control. All of Us Strangers 2023
What a beautiful woven story capturing loneliness! I have never felt so heavy when everything went quiet in that red-hue room. The interlocks of the story were so well connected that I felt seen as a person and a writer who conjures the past and dreams the present like a real life. It killed me when Adam said, 'I was too scared to let you in.' Hearing that felt so heavy. Overall, it was such a heavy and special way to tell the story of grief and loneliness. I found it comforting to be this sad.
