New digital restoration at MOMA as part of To Save and Project.
It’s hard to even begin to describe how Godawful this is. In the screening I was at, at least a dozen people walked out. The sound design doesn’t work; it’s impossible to understand 90% of the dialogue. The “actors” have no idea what to do and there isn’t really any thread to the conflict, which is already minimal. It’s a pity, because the idea was promising. But it’s pretty clear why Warhol didn’t think this was good. It isn’t.
