Listen is this a great movie? Meh. But as someone who grew up on Kirk Cameron’s Left Behind movies and Facing the Giants, this is an above average Christian film. Sure, the first two acts felt like an overt commentary on current American politics (though watching the movie with my mom definitely could have heightened my sensitivity), but the last act dropped almost all references to the cultural revolution.
Three stars for Ben Wang’s impeccable Mandarin, even if his accent is far too northern to play someone from Hangzhou.Translated from by -
