Mars Express 2023
Kind of dragged a bit, but there were so many cool concepts, great world building, cool action sequences and of course, fantastic animation.

Flowers of Evil 2013
This was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the realm of animation. It didn’t feel like an “anime”. It felt like a cinematic slow-burn, needled in anxiety inducing dread and hyper-human character development. I couldn’t bring myself to watch more than two episodes at a time.
The pacing is perfectly grueling, the animation is GORGEOUS, the character design is very realistic, and also..that Asa-Chang ending track is so goddamn unnerving.

Despite pretty animation and a lot of adventure potential, this series is soooo over-hyped.
It suffers from cliche character design, filler dialogue despite its short number of episodes, and a lack of compelling story-telling.
There’s also a bunch of naked child shots, and even scenes where you get brief glimpses of a naked 9 (or somewhere around there) year old tied to a rope. Of course the director of SAO touched this. Gross dude.
