The film reminds me of simpler times when I read Frog and Toad and Peter Rabbit at my elementary school library. It’s cozy and nostalgic.

Nosferatu 2024
Robert Eggers's remake of a classic is surprisingly lukewarm. As expected, Jarin Blaschke’s cinematography is hauntingly beautiful. The desaturated almost black-and-white scenes and the eerie shadows cast across the landscape and walls evoke the aesthetic of German Expressionism, paying homage to the iconic 1922 Nosferatu. However, beneath the film’s visual grandeur lies a disjointed mess. The film's plot barely makes sense. The performances teeter on the brink of overdramatic. Lars broke almost every Dogme 95 rules in this movie lol.
Dogville, like most of Lars Von Trier’s films, is long and pretentious and says nothing except for his usual cynical hatred towards mankind and his contempt for his audience. I not only hate this movie, it makes me angry. I guess Von Trier succeeded in being intentionally outrageous and provocative. Words cannot sufficiently describe how much I detest this man as a director.
