Such a visceral experience watching this in the cinema. The opening scene still gives me goosebumps. Christoph Waltz was blessed with the best dialogue in this film, and Jamie Foxx transforms into a “Black superhero,” to quote a friend.
All that said, I have two reservations. I wish that Kerry Washington had more to do than just being the damsel in distress.

The stark contrast between the way Nikita Khrushchev was treated by Western nations and the UN compared to African leaders such as Patrice Lumumba, is unsettling - but not surprising . African nations were given independence in name-only; and still exploited by Western nations.
And to think that it was still in the lifetimes of our parents that Western nations were openly exploiting the African continent - as opposed to the present convert exploitation.
