Titane 2021
There are moments of genuine greatness here. A thrilling murder spree, a hauntingly beautiful dance scene. But much of this went over my head. Which is not always a bad thing. I can enjoy something surreal or experimental without fully understanding it as long as it feels thematically coherent. Unfortunately, this did not feel this way. Instead, I felt myself consistently getting pulled out of the movie desperately trying to analyze it.

Fairly entertaining when it is allowed to do its own thing, even though some of the dialogue is a bit weak. Unfortunately, it is dragged down by being an entry in a franchise.
I keep asking myself whether I want more Middle-earth adaptations or not. I think my answer is that I'm open to it, but I want to see what a creative person doing their own thing could bring to the table. Not another attempt at pandering to nostalgia…
