Grand Theft Hamlet 2024
Quite bold to go all in with the in-game tools to tell this story: it's a cool choice and it respects the spirit of the story it's narrating, but it contrains the visuals quite a lot for a 90 minutes movie. Some of the drama feels a bit forced, and overall this might have worked best as a mid-lenght movie. But it's still a fascinating document, and at times it is inspiring, beautiful, and often absolutely hilarious.

The Substance 2024
A fantastic opening scene immerses you in a movie that uses cinema with wonderful inventiveness and savage energy. It's a blast (as long as you do hold your own against an onslaught of body horror images), Moore and Qualley are incredibly good. Towards the end it's a bit like, after going to 11, decides to go to 13 and the speakers are already blown out so it loses a bit of impact. Still. Quite great.
